Recap: Driver Appreciation 2023
Each year, we host our truck drivers and their loved ones at our headquarters in Henagar, AL for Driver Appreciation Week.
While this is a nationally recognized week, we like to put our own spin on it at Storey. On Monday, Sept. 11, and Friday, Sept. 15, we were blessed to see so many smiling, friendly faces, as we gathered to celebrate each other and our work!
This year, we had a carnival-themed lunch complete with balloon darts, a prize wheel and cornhole. Everyone in attendance was a winner, whether it was a nice Storey-branded hoodie or baseball cap. A few lucky folks even won $500, and the luck was extended to our drivers who were on the road for the event.
In true Southern weather fashion, our Monday event was blazing hot, and by Friday it was pouring rain. Despite the weather, a handful of our drivers drove hours just to spend time with us! It warmed our hearts to know that this event means as much to all of you as it does to us.
“This event makes me feel important and appreciated. I’ve been a truck driver for over 20 years and no other company has ever done anything like this for their team,” shared one driver. “I drove from Georgia just to be here.”
We do our best to show our drivers how important and valuable they are to us each day, but sometimes going the extra mile and having a meal with someone means that much more. We are incredibly thankful to everyone who joined us. Thank you for sitting down with us, sharing your stories and being part of our family.
